Reduce With Biofloc, Recycle With Glass Filter: Sustainable shrimp farming with advanced and highly efficient technology

CPF prioritizes efficient and environmentally responsible farm management, starting with farm design—such as the site layout and water systems—and ensuring effective wastewater treatment. At the same time, the Company continuously improves its shrimp farming processes.
One key technology is the Biofloc wastewater treatment system, which CPF developed and introduced in 2005 and has since expanded to all shrimp farms in Thailand. Biofloc uses beneficial microorganisms to break down leftover feed and waste in shrimp ponds, helping maintain stable water conditions that support shrimp growth. Because the system reduces the need to regularly replace pond water during cultivation, it can cut water withdrawal by up to 75%.
In addition, the Company has implemented Glass Filter technology—an efficient water treatment and recirculation system—to remove sediment and organic matter and to reduce microorganisms in the water. This helps restore water quality so the water can be reused instead of discharged. Today, all shrimp farms in Thailand use Glass Filter technology, enabling 100% water reuse.
