Pilot Project: Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) Wastewater Treatment System

The Company has upgraded its wastewater treatment and biogas production system by replacing the former anaerobic covered lagoon system with a more advanced continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) system.
As of 2025, the CSTR system has been piloted at two livestock business locations and can treat 122,500 cubic meters of wastewater per year. The pilot has delivered measurable benefits, including annual energy savings of 840 megawatt-hours, cost savings of more than 7.4 million baht, and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of approximately 9,000 tons of CO2 equivalent per year.
The Company has also partnered with the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, to test appropriate system sizes and treatment times for wastewater from different operational areas. In 2026, further research will focus on identifying the optimal mix of water and chicken manure to achieve the highest treatment efficiency.
