Supporting Animal Feed Farmers to Address Climate and Water Risks with the ‘F. Farm’ Application

Protecting Our Climate

Animal feed ingredients—especially feed corn—are essential to keeping the food production supply chain stable. However, most feed-corn farmers depend mainly on rainfall, which makes them highly vulnerable to climate variability such as extended dry periods, irregular rainfall, floods, and waterlogging. These conditions can reduce yields, affect raw material quality, lower farmers’ incomes, and disrupt the Company’s operations.

To help reduce these risks and strengthen farmers’ ability to adapt, the Company developed the “F. Farm” application. The app supports sustainable farming practices and promotes climate change adaptation and better water resource management.

Through the “F. Farm” traceability system, farmers can submit their registration to confirm that feed corn is sourced from deforestation-free areas. The app also provides a way to report field burning when it is observed, helping protect ecosystems and maintain soil, water, and air quality. In addition, it serves as a knowledge hub that provides practical information to help farmers plan and manage cultivation more effectively, such as guidance on climate-smart farming and water management practices, including:

  • Forecast data on rainfall, temperature, and wind speed.
  • Production yield calculations.
  • Notifications and documentation of agricultural activities.
  • Guidelines for responsible farming practices, such as appropriate water usage, proper application of fertilizers and chemicals, and adaptation to climate change risks.

These features are intended to empower farmers and support the long-term sustainability of animal feed ingredient production.
