C.P. Vietnam – Journey for a Green Vietnam Project

Protecting Our Climate

Since 2021, the Company’s operations in Vietnam have actively supported the National Greening Program to contribute to ecosystem restoration. This initiative aims to expand green spaces within factories and farms, mitigate coastal erosion, prevent landslides in areas affected by storms and floods, and enhance biodiversity to protect the ecosystem.

The project established an ambitious goal to plant 1.5 million trees by 2025, comprising 500,000 trees within operational sites and 1 million off-site trees dedicated to the community. Planting activities encompass mangrove forests, terrestrial forests, and community forests. This initiative is carried out in close collaboration with local government authorities, the Forest Protection Department, Forest Conservation Centers, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

In 2025, the project achieved a cumulative total of over 1,520,000 planted trees, successfully exceeding the original target with an average survival rate of 85%. Over 1,000,000 trees have been planted across approximately 2,200 rai (355 hectares) in five provinces. This off-site effort primarily focuses on mangrove and terrestrial forest ecosystems, which account for 87% of the total, with the remaining 13% planted in community areas. Concurrently, the Company has continuously planted and maintained 520,000 trees within its operational sites, which helps improve green spaces, enhances ecological value, and supports long-term carbon sequestration.

The Company conducts continuous monitoring, maintenance, and replanting to ensure the healthy growth of the trees and to generate long-term ecological impacts. Beyond the success in environmental restoration, this project plays a crucial role in raising environmental protection awareness and instilling a deep appreciation for nature among employees and local communities. This reinforces our overarching commitment to driving Vietnam toward a greener and more sustainable future.

The Company’s operations in Vietnam are restoring mangrove ecosystems in Dong Nai and Vinh Long provinces, covering a total of 60.45 hectares. The work has two main parts:

Reforestation
Expanding green areas by 7.85 hectares by planting more than 29,040 mangrove saplings in Dong Nai and Vinh Long.
Natural regeneration
Improving the quality of existing mangrove forests by protecting an area of 52.6 hectares in Dong Nai to allow the forest to regrow naturally.

In addition, a 57-hectare reforestation site launched in 2021 has successfully developed into a healthy, complete forest ecosystem, which strengthens its ability to absorb and store carbon. The Company has officially handed this area over to government authorities for long-term, sustainable management.
